DO YOGA AND EXERCISE:








Limit intake of sugar and starch.  cut back on pasta, rice, potatoes, white bread and breakfast cereals. Corn, peas,sweet potatoes and very sweet fruits are loaded with carbs: eat instead papaya, apples and oranges.  

Limit the intake of biscuits, cakes, cookies,broenies and piles, deserts and sweets.  Instead of avoiding them totally, cut down their portions.  Keep healthy, low calorie snacks handy: low-calorie yoghurt, fresh fruit, unsweetened wholegrain biscuits, roasted channa or tofu/paneer.

Alcohol especially beer adds on calories like nothing else does.  Limit yourself to two small drinks twice a week.

Take up physical exercise which you enjoy: 30-40 minutes of exercise about five times a week is a must.  Walking is the best and most sustainable form of exercise.  Walking 30 minutes a day at a reasonable pace (about 6Km an hour), five times a week burns 150 calories.  Add 20 minutes of yoga twice or thrice a week.  Increase your activity levels within and outside the house.

EAT A BALANCED DIET part II

Eat a balanced diet.  Combine food from all groups-cereals,pulses,milk/curd with liberal amounts of fruits and vegetables.  Control the consumption of meat/chicken/fish/eggs as well as fat/oil and sugar. Processed food, fast food and deserts/sweets should be indulged in only occasionally.

Follow the half-plate rule:  half your plate should be filled with carbo-hydrates and proteins (rice and dhal or roti and paneer) and the other half should be veggies cooked in minimum oil.  Eat more complex, high-fibre carbohydrates - whole grains, husked pulses, high fibre vegetables (beans,peas,carrots,lotus stem,lady's finger etc).

Limit fat intake.  Use very little oil in cooking.  Choose healthier methods such as boiling,grilling,roasting and steaming.  Avoid deep fried foods and namkeens.

Avoid whole milk(paneer, cheese,curd made from whole milk),egg yolk and organ meat.  Avoid fast-food ,sandwichs,burger,pizzas,patties.  No salad dressings,sandwich spreads, ready to eat soup/curries/pasta.  Do not use harmful fats like vanaspati,margarine,butter substitutes and packaged processed food.

BALANCED DIET PART I


BALANCED  DIET:


At first step, write down everything you eat for a week.  The diary will mirror all that is good and bad about your food intake.  It will also help you to understand the unconcious triggers that make you eat the wrong food.

Eat about five small, frequent meals during the day rather than three big ones.  But don't eat anything in between these five meals.

Do not miss meals.  skipping meals causes sudden hunger pangs that lead to bingeing.  Eat when you are hunggry, not when you are bored.  Before putting anything in your mouth, ask yourself: Am I really hungry?  If the answer is no, put the food down.

Eat slowly. This stops you from eating before you load up excessively.  At any meal, stop eating before you are full.  Avoid second helpings- serve yourself food and keep the serving bowls away.
Don't eliminate the food you love.  Eat your favourite once in a while but only a small portion.

NATURAL REMEDY OF CURRY LEAVES







CURRY LEAVES;                                                        

Curry leaves has many medicinal properties.  It has calcium,magnesium,iron,copper,phosparus,clorine and axalix acid.
The stem,leaf and bark of curry leaves iare used for so many medicinal purpose.
You can prepare curry leaves kozyambu and preserve it like vatha kuzyambu.
You can use it whenever you want.  Curry leaves makes your  hair dark black
and portects from hair falling.  It is very good for the eye sight. Pregnent woman use this
curry leaves before and after delivery because of iron content in it.

CURRY LEAVES KOZYAMBU;
Thuvar dhal (4tbs)
Pepper 1tbs
Red chilly 2nos
Curry leaves (bunch )
Coconut (grated)
Oil and mustard for seasoning.
Small amount of tamarind
Garlic 2 to 4 nos.

Fry the above items with little oil and grind it.  Take a pan pour a little oil and mustard for
seasoning.
Add the grinded mixer and add water. Boil it for 5 to 10 minutes in medium flame. Add some oil and salt for it. It becomes just like kozyamu. You can use it for 1 week  if you  kept  it  in the fridge.

NATURAL REMEDY FOR INDIGETION

INDIGETION:




Ginger is the ideal for  stomach  upset and improving digetion. Take some candid ginger or brew a cup of ginger tea for indigetion or have a cup of hot water regularly.  Eat slowly and chew the food well to get good digestion.  Have your dinner 3hours before you go to bed.

Take a tumbler of water add curry leaves,ginger and jeera and make a thick concentration of this.
Drink the concentration  to get rid off  the indigetion and it's a good appetiser.

BROCCOLI SOUP WITH CREAM



                                                             
BRACCOLI SOUP:                                                        

INGREDIENTS:

2 tbs butter
Onion chopped (small size)
1/2 cup cream
3 cups broccoli florets
3 tbs of corn flour
milk half cup

Method:

Boil the broccoli florets and keep aside.  Take a kadai add 2tbs butter and saute onion for few minutes till it turns translucent.  Add boiled broccoli,onion in blender and make paste of it.
Again put this paste in a kadai with 3 cups of water,add corn flour with half cup of milk. Add salt and pepper if needed . Finally add 1/2 cup cream to the soup. Broccoli soup is ready for you.

The main cause for diarrahea are viral infections,bacterial infections,consumption of contaminated food and water creates diarrahea in our body.  We must take atmost care of diarrahea. It can be accompanied by systems like abdominal pain,bloating, nausea and even creates dehydration.

Just two bowls of yogurt is the best remedy for it. Eat banana with yogurt it gives more benefits.
Ginger is used in the treatment of food poisoning and can also help in abdominal pain.
You can drink ginger tea during diarrahea.
Fenugreek seeds are recommended for diarrahea. Chew fenugreek seeds along with yogurt gives quick relief for diarrahea.
Carrot soup is the best remedy for diarrahea because it provides nutrient during diarrahea.

GASTRIC PROBLEM

Take Asafoetida and salt in hot water and drink it ,it will reduce the gastric problem and it is easy to prepare.
Another remedy is take neem flower and make it powder and drink it with hot water.  Thi is the best medecine for gastric problem.
Use garlic and ginger daily in your food. This gives you good relief for gastric problem.
Use of coriander  in our diet is the best way for gastric problem.
Fennel seeds are good source to reduce  gas.
Fine powder of black pepper,dried mint leaves,ginger powder and coriander seeds, all taken in equal amount can beconsumed twice a day (1tbs) to treat gas and indigestion.
Pieces of clove is the best remedy for gas.
Take a glass of butter milk add asfoetida with salt drink it daily.  It is one of the best remedy for gas.

GINGER THE KING OF NATURAL REMEDY

Ginger is the best medicine for cold and cough.  Nowadays cold and cough is a common disease prevailing all over the world. It is affecting the health for both kids and elders.  The main reason for this is climatic conditions of our country.  It is mostly prevalent during rainy season and winter season.
Instead of taking pills for cold the home remedy is the best way. We don't get any side effects.

REMEDIES;

Ginger juice is the best remedy for cold.  We can give this ginger juice along with honey to children.  Take 1tbs of ginger juice with little honey and give it to your child when he or she is affected by cold.  For elders take 2tbs of ginger juice for the cold.

PREPARATION OF GINGER JUICE;

Take a small portion of ginger.  Remove the skin of the ginger, wash it pour cool boiled  water and grind it in a mixie.  You will get ginger paste.  For this add more boiled water (cold) and filter it and keep the juice in a separate bottle.  You can store this in a refrigerator and can use it whenever you want.You have to give ginger juice with honey for three days for your kids when they have cold.  When your child has cold give him (her) vegetable soup with little pepper. It gives immediate relief.  For elders they should drink hot water during cold.  During night you have to drink hot milk with little turmeric,pepper powder and sugar. This gives you good relief from the cold.
