BEANS :     High in complex carbohydrates, beans are digested more slowly than most carbohydrate foods, so they satisfy hunger longer.

High in protein, which supplies material for building and repairing body tissue--muscles, glands, bones, teeth, and skin
High in dietary fiber, maintaining regularity and a healthy digestive system.

Can reduce the risk of certain cancers and help lower blood cholesterol.

High in folate & b-vitamins, which lower the risk of heart disease and cancer.

High in iron, an important mineral for building red blood cells to carry oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body.

Good source of calcium and phosphorus that are needed for building strong bones and teeth and for regulating body processes.

Good source of potassium, important for regulating the fluid balance of the body. Low in fat, especially saturated types
No cholesterol and low in sodium. 

  

 Protect your heart         
The soluble fibre found in beans may help to reduce LDL cholesterol levels.It has been shown to reduce inflammation and blood pressure also good for the heart.

Add a cup (250 mL) of raw flat green or yellow beans to your favourite salad and you’ll get 
19 percent of your daily needs of vitamin K. Low levels are associated with a higher rate of osteoarthritis in hands and knees. This vitamin also plays a key role in the clotting of blood. Add beans in your diet regularly!
